Friends:
Because BOOKS MAKE GREAT GIFTS, this coming Saturday, December 6, the two branches of the Queen Anne’s County Library are hosting a couple opportunities to meet a number of regional authors and to purchase signed copies of their books. There’s sure to be a book for someone on your shopping list, so please stop by and support your local authors.
Library staff will be gift wrapping purchases, and there will be seasonal treats for everyone.
I’ll be participating in the Kent Island signing from noon – 3 pm as part of Historic Stevensville’s FIRST SATURDAY holiday celebration. Authors I’ll be signing with include: Robert Bidinotto (Thrillers), Dr. Donna Day (medical memoir), Frank Hopkins (novels), Nick Hoxter (local history), Peggy Jaegly (non-fiction and children’s), Theresa Moretimer (Thrillers) , Loriann Oberlin (fiction and non-fiction), Michael S. Potts (westerns) , Jan Marie Ritter (memoir), Luann Sackrider (medical memoir) Robert L. Scheina (military history), Amy Schisler (suspense and children’s), and Harold O. Wilson (short stories).
The Centreville event will take place at the library from 11 am – 2 pm and will coincide with the town’s sixteenth annual HECK WITH THE MALLS event. Participating authors include: Rebekah Colburn (inspirational historic romance), Joan Cooper (novels), Joyce Edelson (historic fiction), Alexandra Hamlet (thrillers), Jack Hennessey (Children books and non-fiction), Susan Jones (verse), G.C. Marcum (thrillers), Terrie McClay (fiction), Gail Priest (Eastern Shore-based fiction), Susan Reiss (Eastern Shore-based mysteries), Judith C. Reveal (Fiction and Writing How-tos), Gerald F. Sweeney (novels), and Karen Whiting (non fiction, inspirational and children’s).
So, join in the Heck with the Malls and First Saturday fun, come by the Kent Island Library Authors’ Signing before 3pm, and afterwards, let’s stop across the street at Ram’s Head Shorehouse for a libation and a bite to eat. Peg and I will be there soon after the signing, and thought this might be a good opportunity for a little seasonal cheer with friends.
I hope all my friends are having a great holiday season and I hope to see you on Saturday.
Books are the best gift, and nothing makes me happier than to receive them 🙂 I love reading something someone else picked out for me; it’s like an adventure I did not know I was going to take!
You are so right! I love giving and getting books and the signings were a success!
