OF CHRISTMASES PAST

In 2016, easternshorebrent has relied on a lot of old BAY TIMES newspapers for content. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank the BAY TIMES staff, past and present, for being so supportive of my writing endeavors over the years. Editor Angie Price deserves a special shout out for always being on my side, and my buddy Jack Shaum, now retired,  also gets a thank you from me for such consistently friendly coverage.

I’ve always thought of the BAY TIMES as my hometown newspaper, and I’m always happy to do whatever I can for them at any time.

Support your local newspapers!

I also need to thank the Dunn family for entrusting me with their dad Gil’s collection of BAY TIMES, from the first issue in November 1963 until 1980. When Gil passed away last year,  there were boxes and boxes of the BAY TIMES in his barn, and they were passed on to me. Most of this year’s easternshorebrent would not have been possible without Gil Dunn’s newspaper collection. Thank you and Cheers!

And with that, let’s get to the BIG STORY:

  1. Brent, I love the pictures with Santa, particularly the one of Steve Kaufman from 1967. Steve passed away last year and I would love to send a copy of this to his wife. Would you post it to FB so I can send to her. Thanks so much! Claudia Ewing Jewell
